Hello,

can anyone explain to me the differences in the licensing policy of Genesys CTI 6.5 vs 7.2?

Thanx.

Hi,

As far as I know commercial licensing is the same - You buy most of components per seat. SDK licensing was changed but I'am not sure how ( my company has global licensing agreement and there were some chagnes connected to 7.x ).

From technical point of view:

1) statserver no longer requires licences - You can have any number
2) TServer licences were split to 2 - sdn - number of seat's in Your installation, tdn - technical dn all other objects - routing points, ivr ports etc. This is quite important if You are using A4400 were in previous version You needed 2 licences for every agent ( extension and ACD Position). In 7.x You have to use agent substitution.

There also some changes connected to MCR ( Multimedia ) - there is no straight way to migrate from ICS to MCR - as far as I know You have to buy new licences for 7.x enviroment to use multimedia routing.

Well, actually IVR ports are in tserver_sdn.

another question - if you have say 100 tserver_sdn licenses but only 50 Inbound Voice licenses can you use more than 50 licenses for agents?

Also, can anyone explain to me what router_seats licenses mean?

Depends if you IVR is on behind mode or in-front mode. There are some licenses extra, can't remember the name.

  • When You configure IVR port as VTO it is taken from tdn but it no allways works. As for router_seats - it's number of unique targets for which urs can send interactions - normaly it is calculated as number of seats + number of ivr ports
