Is Info Mart 7.5 version available? If so, is it compatible with VM Ware?

Hi,

I don't think it's available, although it was announced in May this year. There isn't even documentation related to InfoMart 7.5 available on TechSupport site.

Hey guys, I've seen it around.  It's available as a restricted release.  Configuration is much easier.  Configuring ETL jobs will be from an Infomart GUI Admin Console as oppose to Data Integrator Designer.

Infomart 7.5 is on Exclusive/Restricted Release.  That is, you can get it but it may have to be bundled with "PS" from Genesys, to make sure you are getting what you asked for...

Insofar as compatibility (another thread...) then ICON 7.2 will still feed Infomart 7.5.  The difference this time around is that Infomart can provide for MCR Channels, whereas ICON needs to be 7.5 to provide it (I think...?)

What are the possible options for Infomart alternative.

Has any one used ICON to feed Proprietory internal data warehouse where Genesys data could be combined with business data( SAP etc) to create KPI's

Noor - We're looking at possibilities at the moment so I'll let you know.  IMHO, it is not impossible with a BI Department DBA/Business Reporting resource or two.. but the 2 main questions are "how difficult to create" and "how easy to maintain"? :)

i do not recommend using the ICON Data without InfoMart. The Reason is, that Genesys Announced that they could modifiy the Databasestructure of the IDB in future releases. Only the Databasemodel of GIM will be obtained in future releases

Hi unfaced...

I do recommend trying to interface to ICON with a bespoke Data Warehouse, based on the ridiculous price tag being applied to Infomart, irrespective of future changes...

<Whoops - did I say that out loud? - Smite me! lol>

of course you can try and it will work. the only risk is, if you update to a newer version that the Datamodell is different. so it is up to you  >:D

Absolutely my point too; The technical db model rebuilds and future development would need to be factored in as a costed (BI and BOBS Designers) resource, along with the expansion costs for the Data Warehouse (DBA's) and ETL Tools (DBA's again...) then put that up against the per-seat license and operational cost model being applied to Infomart, by Genesys.

I guess I am talking about both the technical and cost models and weighing both of those up... It would be remise of us not to consider it, given the price tag...

It's probably worth double checking, but i recalll that if you originally bought call concentrator then ICON would/should be a free upgrade.

Tony, if you do elect to go with building your own ETL into a proprietary datawarehouse over InfoMart could you provide some insight on how you get that justification.

Thanks,
Eugene
