Avaya Vector/Routing question

Hi,

Very quick question...

Is it normal to have to put 'wait-time 1 secs' after an 'adjunct routing link X' in a Vector to allow Genesys to take control?

If I don't include the wait, and go straight to something like: 'goto step 3 if staffed-agents in skill 1st = 0' then Genesys doesn't route the call...

Cheers,

Ben

Yes you need a wait step after the adjucnt route

Avaya will wait that amount of time for a Genesys response

If no response is received the vector will process the next step and "default route"

You want to wait enough time for Genesys to go through its routing strategy.  The vector is simply waiting on further instructions from Genesys.  If, during the routing strategy, you call another VDN / Vector such as a voice treatment then you need to do the same with the new vector.  This way, if after... say 30 seconds, Genesys doesn't supply further instructions to the switch then the vector can "Fail" to a traditional queue.

Likewise, you want to put a wait 1 second statement at the very beginning of the vector.  It caused crazy things to happen in Genesys when we tried to leave this out.  Avaya  recommends it for EVERY vector that is created.  Why they don't just build it in to the switch is beyond me...

Just my two cents worth...
Good Luck
Thanks,
