High Availability for OCS

Hi,

my site here is using Genesys OCS 7.5 to generate close to 20,000 outbound calls a day for our billing department and I am getting a bit concerned with the fact that our ooutbound system is not redundant. Does Genesys offer HA for OCS? What parts of HA are implemented and what should I expect and not expect from it?

I would ask our VAR, but they are too focused on trying to sell us a third-party outbound product so I am dubious to the sincerity of their answer.

  • Ok, this is a simple one!

    OCS offers something called "Enhanced Warm Standby" which you can use to ensure that all of your pending transactions are not lost if one of your OCS decides to go south for the winter and drink a bit of tequila.

    It is actually pretty straight-forward and Genesys really did a good job getting it working. I am not sure why it is not HOT Standby, though, because I do not see the difference!
