troubles with gvp + sip integration

Hi all,

we are having problems with integration of SIP server 7.5 ang GVP 7.5 in the behind mode. We followed the instructions (white paper) at the genesys site. The media gateways used are from cisco.
The call arrives at URS, from where a GVP application with voice treatment and menu selection is played. From the GVP application the call is routed to a virtual routing point (back to URS) with attached data.

When we use the connect or transfer block in GVP, call is correctly routed on routing point, and if agents are ready also routed on agents. But the attached data are not transferred with the call.
Therefore, we are using routing point block and virtual routing point as recommended by the documentation. But, the call does not arrive on the RP, or better said, it is not routed on agents (even if they are ready). From the logs we see, that target agent was selected, but the call didn't arrive on his agent desktop.

We see SIP REFER messages leaving GVP and targeting SIP server, from where they are retransmitted to media GW. They are telling MediaGW to connect the caller with the agent, on which the MG responses with: 491 request pending. We were just thinking, shouldn't this action be made by SIP server?

The funniest thing is, that we had this configuration working, but after some upgrades on the MediaGW (which are not in charge of) it stopped working suddenly. Is it the case, where the MediaGW has to answer positively to the REFER messages?

Also we were having some funny issues with GVP, when the watchdog service was restarted. We also have to restart SIP server, otherwise the voice treatments ports are not re-registered and therefore can't be used...

We will be very thankful for any ideas how to fix this issue, because we are working on for a long long time already...
Many thanks

Peter

Hi Peter,

Have you found a solution to these issues yet? if so, care to share?

Hi,

we solved it by using GVP 7.6 and targeting GVP by place groups, not by IPCS. We had another problems later with cisco SBC, but that was solved by disabling refer-enabled on the trunk.
