How do I know I have the number of licenses in use at a particular time?

  • Log in to the licence server, go to the directory with the licence file (license.dat) and run

    lmstat  -c  ./licence.dat  -a

    lmstat on it's own will give you a list of all the options.

  • For the actual T-Server licenses in use...

    When you start T-Server you will see the number of licenses checked out:
    TServer list
      list  <+>
        compatibility-port = 0
        management-port = 2801 <+>
        license list  <+>
          num-of-licenses = 9999 <+>  < === These are technical licenses
          num-sdn-licenses = 150 <+>  <=== These are seat licenses
        tenant-profile list  <+>

    As each DN is registered with the switch you will see a similar message to the following:
    Number of seat licenses in use 8 out of 150 available

    The license manager solution just shows the number that are checked out by T-Server, but not necessarily in use.
