Oooohhh...  Is this is a set up...??? :)

OK - in broad terms GVP provides a framework which means you can resell a number of ports and services to other vendors, when used as part of an (MPLS) Networked Solution.

VGP is a much more local affair and, whilst it is scalable it is primarily focused on single vendor use, set up against local (PBX) Architectures.  It can be deployed against MPLS/Network Services but that is not it's primary function/role.

The intention is, given time (read "8.x +") GVP and VGP would be converged into one platform but that is a matter for debate/discussion... :)

- Can I ask why you are asking and then maybe I can give you a more defined description/comparison?
