Problem putting a licence file with FlexLM

Hi guys, I'm pretty new here and I need some help. I'm actually in a lab trying to set up a genesys framework V7.5... everything is working fine (Config Layer installed and Management Layer Also). I'm at the step of installing the ''Media Layer'' (T-server with 3G Simulator etc etc)... But i'm stuck at the step of installing and configuring the licence file etc.. FlexLM is installed and the License file is configured to match my ''Host'' info, witch is my local computer. *Config manager and Solution control interface are working fine*

##
[glow=red,2,300]SERVER LABCCSO-VM03 DISK_SERIAL_NUM=F869102E 7260
DAEMON genesys.d /C:\FLEXlm\[/glow]
##

Disk serial is matching, server name also, but when i am launching the lmtool.exe and i choose to get the license from the file_license, nothing is happening.

Here's the message FlexLM is giving me:
*************************
-------------------------------
Finding License Server
-------------------------------
License server not found
*************************

Keep in mind that i'm new to this, and i am learning :)

Thank you

I think that adding the service first should be a good idea.... -_-.. But when navigating in the ''settings'' TAB, the application crash. I will dl it again.

hi,

right, should be a service. therefore tick the checkbox CONFIRM_SERVICE_CONFIGURATON in installation routine.

then go to the Config Services Tab first and make settings (Auto-Start and Use Services must be checked) and save it

close lmtools window go to services make sure u can start it. then stop it.

then start lmtools again and chose Start/Stop/Reread - tab and click Sart Server

if you wanna update your license file paste it into installation folder (C:\FLEXlm\) and just click "ReRead License File" in Start/Stop/Reread - tab. there s no need to stop FLEXlm Serverice therefore.

Thx for your fast and usefull response :D. The problem was indeed about the service. BUT in the app, I didn't have the Config TAB (probably because i've misconfig my license file). One the Tab was in the app, and pointed the good files into the application, the service appeared and was started.
Thank you very much for your support phil ;)

Let's install the T-Server now... hehe
