GVP VAR issue

Hi
Has anyone faced the below issue while installing/configuring Voice Application Reporting for GVP:
The components (GVPApplicationReporter and VAR COM Agent) have been installed successfully. But when I open the "Manage Applications" screen, the dropdown for Applications is empty.

Also, as described in Genesys manuals, upon installation of the COM Agent, a task should be visible in the Scheduled Tasks folder. This is not happening in my case.

Can anyone suggest a workaround please.

Regards
Nishant

Have you configured your applications to feed VAR? I don't see any data incoming.

I have got an IVR Profile (Outbound) created and tested as working. I have GVP integrated with Outbound. I can see the calls being placed from OCS to the customer via OBN Manager.

I have to tell you though that the installation of VAR was done manually and not through the GDT. But even then, I have followed the Genesys manual to the T with regards to installation tasks. Is that an issue?

No, I mean, on your application you have to add objects to feed VAR, the fact that the application is installed and your VAR running doesn't mean it will be feeded automatically. You have to do it manually, it is not like other Genesys Statistical products like Statserver and ODS...

Normally the scheduled task will take care of the feeding, if this is not installed, not data will be transfered to the VAR server. Maybe this could not be installed because of an rights problem on the local machine, I believe you need an administrator account to instal the VAR client.
Also the VAR client needs to be installed on every instance of GVP.

Hi Straes
I have done a clean reinstall of GVP (not only VAR) and now atleast the details in the "Check VAR Status" webpage are populating. But unfortunately, the Scheduled Tasks does not appears to have got created, although the installation was done using Administrator account.
I have made a few calls via OCS and they have successfully been placed ... but still I cannot see any entry in the Manage Application screen.
Please suggest ... appreciate any help.

Nishant

You can only see your application one's some data has been received, so as long as no data has been received, no application will be displayed.

I was mistaken before, the data transfer from the VAR com agent is actually done by a service (VARAgent.exe), you should find this in your service list of windows, check if this is running. The scheduled task it used by the server to write the data to the database. In the bin directory of the GVPApplicationReporter is a file called scheduledTask.exe, this can be used to create the scheduled task manually (you have to specify installation path, admin user and password).

Also check the log files of the VARCom Agent, it could be that the VarAgent object is not found by the jsp or asp you use in GVP. Did you also enable VAR reporting in your studio application?
Anyway, the jsp (asp) files call an object named VarAgent (this is a separate included file with some java or vb functions to call the object) and that will trigger the service to handle the data. This data is transfered to the server after x minutes, and the server is retrieving the data by the scheduled task which writes it to the db.

So monitor the log files and see if you c

I again did a reinstall of VAR components. This time, a Schedule Task did get created because this time I added a password to the Administrator userid. Earlier there was a blank password.... probably that was the reason the schedule task did not get created.
Also, I have enabled "Callflow Reporting" in the studio application. Also, added a SetReportsData object in the application.
Now, the Check VAR Status screen shows all "green" and also the application is now available in the Manage Applications screen.
However, the VAR COM logs show an error as described in attached logfile and call details for today are not appearing in the report.

Hi Nishantank,

Maybe you can try this,

This happens due to communication issue between VAR Server and VARJavaClient.
You have ‘VARServerFQDN’ set to ‘GENMSI.GVP.COM’ in ‘VARClientConfig’

Add "http://" to the "VARServerFQDN" value in VARClientConfig.ini

• Edit "VARClientConfig.ini"
• Add "http://" to the beginning of the "VARServerFQDN" value
• Save changes

i.e. set ‘VARServerFQDN’ to ‘http://your FQDN’ example : http://genmsi.gvp.com

hopefully can help and working properly

I believe this addresses your issue.
Please let me know if you require further clarification.
