Hi,
I am running into a major problem here and really would like to have your help.
After having DataSourcer and ETL run for a few days on our UNIX and NT for ETL I noticed that the number of oracle processes keeps increasing until the maximum number of allowed connections is reached. I still cannot determine if it is ETL or DataSourcer, but it sure looks like one of them forgets to shutdown the oracle process after it finished retrieving the data. Has anyone else noticed this behavior on CCA 6.1 using Oracle 8.1.7?

  • I have had the same problem with both Oracle 8.1.7.2 and 8.1.7.3 and Genesys 6.1 release. We have had initially doubled Sources defined in ETL Assistant so I thought It caueses the problem. I have remove one source which (I thought) removed the problem. However now I have news from DBA that the problems still occuers (but much less frequently). In my opinion it is ETL which is not closing connections in our case database (after restart) there was a quite steady number of connections and in certain points in time the number rapidly growed. Unfortunately we cannot monitor DB connections in Genesys 6.1 (but I have heard you can do it in release 6.5)
