Network Routing TServer

Hi,

Has anyone implemented Genesys Network routing solution? I am wondering if anyone has any documentation on this? I understand all the routing is done by the PSTN, but how does Genesys interface with the PSTN and then route the calls to the PBX located at each call center?

I believe that you have to run an ISDN line between the Network Router server and the carrier. The Network router monitors all the sites and lets the carrier know where to send the calls. We looked at it a while back but never implemented it.

Do you have access to Genesys support page? There you can DL any files you need.

But to summarize, network routing is done by installing a TServerline and URS like product on a carrier site, so you can pre oute the calls. Supposedly, you can save on transfer costs and T1line costs between the sites, because you no longer would need the connection between each site to transfer a call from one site to another. Of course, in reality, you would still need it, because there is always a need for satellites to talk to each other, and doing it via outbound is too expensive compared to having a leased line between the two.

I know that in Australia Telstra is using it and I heard rumors that MCI was using it as well (before it went under); however, unless you have a really huge call center with satellites miles apart, you should try to avoid it...

Call MCI and ask for product info on their "Gateway" product. It works like a champ!
