SIP - Outbound Test Harness / Simulator

Just a quickie - Just back from a Genesys training course, and we were using a SIP Simulator to "answer" (or no answer, busy, etc.) our Outbound calls.

Can anyone recommend one which is documented and fairly easy to use?

Thank you!

Can you share some more details about this SIP Simulator and if this is available for others as well and their relevance to us in testing.

As soon as I get some useful information, then of course!

We had OCS / SIP Server making Outbound calls, with the SIP Simulator acting as the customer endpoint for these, sending back Answer, No Answer, Busy, etc. - Great for testing certain things with your Outbound Campaigns.

So if anyone can recommend something can can simply sit an answer Outbound SIP calls, giving back predefined call results, this would be great.

Gen Simulator has support for SIP in last release, haven't tested it but according to docs should work

If this is Genesys training probably You used internal tool. As cavagnaro mentioned there is Genesys product called SIP Simulator toolkit which allows to do similar things in simple way. As an alternative You can use open source sipp package. As a simplest solution You can use second SIPS to emulate multiple customers. You configure this SIPS to start strategy for every call and in strategy You decide if call should be rejected using specific SIP code like 486 busy or 404 not found etc or You can play different announcements for simulating human, am, fax or sit tones.
