Measure StatServer traffic

Hello,

is there a way, through logs for example, to determine the number of objects and statistics in use for a ccpulse workspace?
I want to determine amount of data being used.
CCPulse doc gives basic measurement, 256 byte per response (make and received).

thanks,

Try to turn on logs on CCP+ site, there should be message/info what you want. Within statserver log I am not sure about similar information.

You can find requested information in CCPulse+ - menu "Help / Environment Information".

I don't think you can get data usage from the actual client or the logs (if I remember correctly you can turn on processor and memory usage for logs). Your best bet is to try and use a network measuring tool either on the client or in the network and narrow it down between the CCPulse to Stat Server connection and CCPulse to config Server connection.

It is a bit pointless, the requested data can get from client directly or from the logs may ne. Network sniff is the last resort, from my point of view.

I'm not sure what you mean the requested data can get from the client directly. Config updates or stat updates come from config server (or proxy) and stat server respectively, which will generate data traffic.

Not sure why it would be pointless. In this case, unless I read it wrong, the request was to see how much data, and I assume network traffic, and the best way to do that is with a local networking tool either on the server or client. I have had this request many times because there is a impression (and it can be true) that CCPulse can be a bit of a hog with data, memory and processor. If you have a lot of CCPulse clients, that can generate an amount of traffic that isn't trivial, although most of networks in place today shouldn't have any problems with most implementations.

Over LAN can be easy, but WAN, VPN, etc will suffer and always good to know how and what is using precious bandwidth.
I have used Netlimiter (shareware app) on user PC and if using Win7 on clients use Resource Monitor.
Wireshark is a more detailed tool and give tons of more information, but to just know the how much BW may be a little too complex.
