What type of switch are you using? What version? Try to be more specific, otherwise no one will help you. just information, VTP ports are not necessary for playing treatments and announcements, just depends on used type of switch/PBX.

In SIP server environment, the VTP are no longer necessary, with except case when you need them. But the VTP does not serve for play announcement. Read the guides better for next time - try to look at MediaServer guide or SIPxMS integration guide to know how to integrate MediaServer.

In general (when you have deployed MediaServer)

- Integrate SIP server with MediaServer solution through VoIP services DN
- Configure LRG with MCP for annoucenemnt type (or for support all)
- Create a folder announcement under install folder of MCP or create some network shared folder, where the physicall files will be located
- Within strategy call the requested file

In 8.1 release the integration is quite easy, more easier than in previous versions (7.6 and below).

Kubig,

why is there a need for LRG configuration?

If you are using RM within MediaServer layer, you have to configure which type of services will the MCP serves (vxml, recordingclient, announcement, music or just msml).

Thanks for your valuable response. The SIP Server 8.1 deployment guide contains information about how to configure treatment objects.

Yes, I wrote it before. Configuration within IRD strategy is quite simple, the main part of configuration is on SIP server site. If you will have some question about it, feel free to ask.
