Interactive Insights/SAP BI 4.1

I have installed ICON,InfoMart, SAP BI 4.1 with client tools, also Interactive Insight 8.1.4.
All newest Genesys components. Lab environment in our office.
I see Interactive Insights with subfolder 8.1.4 in SAP CMS Universes, also 3 others Universes like Monitoring TendData, Report Coversion Tool, webi universes (I guess as demo).
I have also some 7 folders with different GI2 reports in SAP CMS/Folders.

It is not clear how to import GI2_Universe, manage connection to Oracle Infomart.
I have created new Universe and able to see Infomart db tables using Information design tool, but no idea how to manage SAP connection for GI2_Universe and reports.
Genesys Interactive Insights 8.1 Deployment Guide 81ii_dep_10_2014_v8.1.402.00 provides info:
Linking the Universe to Your Data Mart page 32, but it is based on SAP BO 3.1, not 4.1.
Importing the Universe to Designer page 33
Defining a New Connection page 35

I am new in SAP, tried to find some local folder with GI2_Universe on Infomart/GI2 server for Universe import but no success.

Can You provide some recommendations how to manage connection and run GI2 reports?

Hi ,

From Gi2 8.1.3 and 8.1.4 require something like lcmbiar..we need to use promotion management..(refer sap bo guide)
are you willing to convert .unv to .unx..if yes..you have to use idt..prompt conversion tool..
for importing old universe, you have to use import utility.. we have create accessgroup etc regarding the same..
i am recently doing this recently..in half stage. :)
Please share your experience regarding the same..
how can you create new universe? create odbc connection..then map it to gim db and so , after that..what connection you created in universe?

Thanks
Raja

I don't need to migrate anything from older versions. I have downloaded newest Genesys components versions.
I am able to create new Universe in  Information design tool, have connected to Infomart database (Oracle) using JDBC, I see tables.
But no idea how to use GI2_Universe, I don't see it nor others demo universes.

I found how to create JDBC connection to Oracle but now I have question how to use it fo GI2_Universe.
Where is GI2_Universe located? I see it but no way to assign connection for him.

I do not know what version of documentation have you read, but I am currently seeking on docs site and see same topics for BOE 4.1 as well. Try to download or read the latest version.

I just discovered that latest deployment guide has new part about SAP BI 4.1:
81ii_dep_02-2015_v8.1.403.00
It's funny, but I got notification from Genesys by email yesterday.

I am looking now how to generate reports. How they should be linked to GI2_universe. Terra incognita
