How to reserve same agent when caller transferred to RP?

My apologies if this has been answered somewhere already - may be the terminology I'm using:

My client is wanting a solution where an agent will transfer a caller to a RP that will play a strategy with some announcement treatments.  They then want the call to come back to the original agent.

How are people achieving this type of thing out there?  Obviously post the selection target block in IRD I can attach the agent id, but what should I put near the start of the strategy on the transfer RP so that this agent is reserved for this specific call and gets the call back again?

You put the agent on NotReady after transfer, then on the transfer to the new RP you attach the original agent ID, then the new RP Strategy grabs it and do a TRoute to this agent.
I do have a customer with this and now disabling as demonstrated no reason for that, and loses a lot of time of calls on queue. Another agent can know the whole history of the original caller if business callflow is well done.
