Hello,

We have started a project to merge or CTI Configuration and InfoMart reporting environments together.  As a company, we currently run two environments (one for each side of the business).  We have a good grasp on the CME merge.  Has anybody on the forum attempted or has been successful merging two InfoMart environments together?  We do a lot of Adhoc reporting using Views and Base InfoMart tables.  We don't utilize Interactive Insight canned as much...

Any tips, insights, learnings, or how to's would be greatly appreciated !!

Thanks,
Lance

This could never be a standard, straightforward approach.  The elements that comprise the Infomart solution are quite disparate and there is a method called "Federation", which I am sure you are already using for your Environment.  Relating to Infomart, there are a number of elements you need to combine, depending on what you are using - and what you are trying to achieve;

Combine Databases: merge the underlying database elements (Infomart).  Cross-check Database/Schema/table naming conventions, create new DBServer/DAP
/ICON elements in the new environment, based on the old environment and begin to feed data.
Combine Environments: slowly swap across the processes (ICON,etc.) from one environment to the next, 1 for 1, checking as you go.
Combine BI elements: merge the underlying Business Object Universe(s), if required.
Re-Create BI Reports: copy across and re-develop links for existing BI Reports.

There is a lot more to this than meets the eye - these are just general pointers....

Thanks for the information.  Would it be possible to merge the configuration and still run separate reporting environments?

Yes - that's probably the easiest solution.  But maintaining 2 Infomart solutions means you'll need licenses and support for both of them.
