Mlink Timeout

I've got the following setup:
Nortel 81C with rel 25.40 software, Symposium Link 5 and Genesys 7 software.
Customer complains about default routing with incoming ACD calls.

See error messages in Genesys Log:
@10:35:47.9190
**    ml_rq_timeout_clean: no response for request_id 0x77ec, timeout 134 s
@10:35:47.9190
**    mlink_scan_rq_list: total 4, deleted 1

What does this mean?
Are there any patches for Genesys as patches on M1 and Symposium are up to date?

  • Hi Louis,

    From the tech support site:
The message "ml_rq_timeout_clean" is printed in the log file when TServer sends a message to the Meridian Link, but did not get response (due to congestion on the link, for example). Because this is a debug-level message, it does not in itself indicate an error.

    Tserver works with a queue of requests for every DN: one of the criteria for keeping a request in the queue is if the link did not answer the tserver request. The message above indicates such a failure to answer, but as a housekeeping message it does not mean there has been any problem at the tserver messaging level.

    Another possibility. The call was transferred to a non-monitored dn, call was never transferred back into tserver visibility, therefore tserver never seen the released event. the timeout is tserver cleaning up the callid.

     This is an issue with the Link. Tserver makes a request to the switch, but the switch doesn't respond. Please check with your network people or Link people to resolve this switch issue.
The bit in bold looks interesting!

    There are numerous instances of this error on the support site, I have looked at a couple and they all give the same response, which makes a change!

    Hi Mark.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Do you know where I can get documentation that will assist me in troubleshooting
    the Genesys T-Server.

    I know Symposium and Nortel products very well but Genesys is a grey area for me.

    Regards

    Louis
