Hi Asif,

Are you installing two different versions? What platform are you  installing it on? On Unix you should not have any issue to install and run multiple versions, however on the WinTel the installation process will probably complain about it when previous version is still on board. It will force you to de-install the old first if I remember this correctly.

Cheers,

e.

  • Hi Ecki,

I am installing same version of Communiaction Server on windows 2000. I was trying to install Primary Communication Server of 1 site and Backup Commnuication server for 2nd Site on the same host with different Port. It won't let me install the 2nd instance of communication server and forcing me to remove the first instance of Communication Server.

Then you do not have to install second GCS. Just create new app in CME using the same binaries and set port and other relevant options such as logging and probably path to libraries if you wish to use different types and run it via SCI. Or I think you can even copy whole GCS dir and point your new GCS app to use binaries from the copied dir.

    Cheers,
