Hello,

can someone please tell me if statserver only writes to the database tables, or does it read and update those tables as well?

Thanks,
Vic

If you use Statserver for historical reporting (dart or CC Analyzer) it will write to the database (via a DAP). I don't think it will read any information from the datbase. Configuration information within the database is received by Statserver from the config server

Yes, you are right. I thought so too. On top of that, Genesys cofirmed that.

But then I really cannot explain the problem we are having at one of our sites we have copied our database from NT to UNIX and for testing purposes, redirected the whole CTI system to use UNIXased database (CC, CME, and so on). The test did not go too well, so we redirected Genesys back to NTdatabase.

Three days laters, statserver started to freeze few hours into operation. We have rebooted the systems, and few hours later, statserver froze again.

Then, I remembered that we have not deleted ssbackup.000 file used by statserver when we transferred the system from one database to another. so I thought that maybe ssbackup.000 file has some information from a previous UNIX database, which causes statserver to malfunction. So, I deleted it. This, however, did not help.

I cannot think of any reason why transferring CTI database from NT to UNIX and then back to NT would cause statserver to freeze. Before the test, the whole system worked fine. So, I would think that after returning back to that environment, we should not encounter any new problems.

Does anyone know what might be the cause?

Thanks,
Vic
