Any ideas whether there is a TServer v5.1 for MLS 4.0 (Symposium v4) out there? As v5.1 is EOL only getting the 'upgrade to v6' message from other sources. (Although apparently the v6 TServer will work in a v5.1 environment can anyone confirm this??)

Any thoughts?

Good question!

Probably their SIer is REALLY greedy:)
Or, if they are running without config server on a text file, now they will need DB and an extra few machines...
Or, they are not thinking about continuing with Genesys....

Genesys upgrade decision has costed them tonns of small customers. I always wondered WHY they decided to do it.

Currently only use Genesys for outbound. With a site on Meridian Link changing to Symposium MLS v4, I don't want to have to upgrade the entire suite (databases, applications, training etc). Would just want to put in new tserver and link it into the existing infrastructure.

If you purchased Genesys 5.1 then check the CD. The link messaging change from MLink to MLSM on Symposium was minimal. The version you need could be on the original CD. Otherwise if you purchased support then Genesys should have no problem sending the 5.1 version you need for now, I would guess. If you talk to Genesys support post your results. Thanks

I have run a 6.1 TServer in a 5.1 Genesys environment, and this worked fine, although it was for a Hicom Switch, not Symposium.

  • Genesys Support have confirmed no issues with running a v6 TServer on v5.1 CME. Recommended v6.5 TServer for Symposium and upgrade licence file. If I remember right, the v5 components operate from a v6 licence entry.
