Hi, guys,

I am pretty weak when it comes to PBX configuration, so I need someone who can help me with MAPD question.

We have two MAPDs, one active, one in standy mode. Our PBX people tell us that we are probably reaching the maximum number of messages PBX can send to TServer, and there is nothing we can do. What really is interesting, we are told that there is no way of measuring the actual load on MAPD, so they have no real clue whether or not we are really reaching the maximum or not.

So, I was wondering:
is there a simple way to measure the current number of messages handled by MAPD? We are told that MAPD in theory can handle about 200 msgs per second on G3 Release 11.xxxx

Can we increase maximum number of messages sent to TServer from G3 by loadalancing MAPDs? Our PBXs people tell us that both MAPDs can be set to send events, but since they would be sending identical events, capacity would not be increased. Is there a way to have MAPD1 send events for different set of DNs or perhaps, loadalance messages between two?

what is a difference between CLAN and MAPD?
our PBX people tell me that capacity of CLAN and MAPD is actually the same. In other words, the number of messages that can be sent to TServer per second does not vary if you use CLAN or MAPD. Is it true?

What can be done to increase link throughoutput?

    MAPD's cannot be load balanced
    CLAN and MAPD throughput is the same. Pre CM3

    Whether you are hitting the limit of throughput will be very hard to determine.....how extns and route points are you monitoring???

    The only way to increase throughput is to go to CM3 and AES with 3 clans that would give you 720 msgs per second, but i havent tested this yet.

    Testing it will be another headache.

    We have tried it and the throughput was around 380 Mpbs or so, no where close to the figure they are claiming.
