Dialogic config for CPD

Hi,
We are planning to use CPD servers equipped with Dialogic JCT D480JCT boards. Our PBXes are MEridian 1 Option 61 and 81. We are planning to use a line side T1 type of card on the PBX to connect the Dialogic board.
Does anyone have an idea on how to configure Dialogic boards to support Nortel's line side T1 connection ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi,

there is not much to configure, really, because all you have to do is define dtiB1 or something similar to it in CME and you are done. There is nothing really else to do :)

Of course, before that, you will need to download Dialogic SDK (520 Megs or so) and install that, and then train the card using PBX Expert.

How far have you been able to proceed?

Firstly, the switch admin HAS TO know how to define T1 lines on Meridian side, otherwise you'll NEVER be able to run CPDServer properly.
Secondly you HAVE TO configure (or find if you are lucky enough) *.prm, *.cdp files for your country & switch.

The main problem lies between Dialogic and the Switch, almost nothing related to Genesys!!
The worst is yet to come! The customer always thinks that it IS a Genesys problem and you can not get proper support from Genesys itself! That is what always has happened to me!

I wish you best of luck :)

thanks for the info !

We have a bunch of PBX (nortel) experts. I agree the problem will be configuring the Dialogic board. Lineside T1 seems to be more complicated that PRIs or DTIs. We are receiving the boards next week but i still don't know what config to put on the Dialogic board. We have an M1 81c and are in Canada. By the way, i have confgured a lot of Dialogic cards with PRIs and never used PBXpert, what is this ?
Thanks again.

  • PBX Expert allows you to configure the card to recognize ringing, busy and so on... Pretty handy if you ask me.

PBXpert is intalled with Dialogic System Software. By the way, make sure that you install the latest Feature Pack and Service Update.

You'll see *.prm,*.cdp(Country Dependent Paramater) files and MORE in "../Dialogic" installation folder. You'll need to find out right settings for your country & pbx.

The main cause of problem comes in mismatched frame type and line coding in my experience.
b8zs, AMI and D4 etc... check those setting in lineside T1 card and your dialogic configuration if you get red.
