A "bip" just before IRD strategy

Hi all,

I'm making a new IRD strategy to drive the inbound calls. The PABX get correctly the call, the TServer ask the URS to know what to do.
An IRD strategy is applied to the call, but just before this strategy, a "bip" is played  ???

Is anybody knows where does this bip come from ?

thanks,

++

You might want to elaborate on the "BIP" as well as what switch you have.

I think that you will find it is because of the option give_treatment in URS which gives a burst of ringtone to the strategy, primarily used on Nortels.

Can you give me a bit more info about the Bip?
Do you mean ringing or another treatment?

Mark

Edit: its rare to see posts, let alone to post while another person is! Ian beat me to the question.

Hi Mark,

Please check log of TServer and look for any information related to treatments. It's possible that communication between TServer and URS takes more time then expected so TServer tries to apply some treatment. If you send me log file I can check it for you.

  • At first, I thought that this is Nortel where you have to apply treatment (even for a second) before starting your routing strategy in order to avoid PBX taking over.
But re-reading your post, I noticed that you create a strategy yourself, so, this is not the case.

There are several things you need to check:

RP (VDN/CDN ) - what kind of script do you have running on your PBX for it? Do you have some sort of treatment specified after issuing EventRouteRequest?
What is your strategy like? Do you apply some sort of treatment in the very beginning of the strategy for just 1 second to ensure that your call does not go PegDEF?
Please post the log for T/Server and URS for that period (EventDialing through EventRinging)

    Best regards,
    Vic

You probably have a step in the PBX prior to handing over to genesys saying wait 1 second hearing ring back. If you have the PBX administrator do 1 second hearing silence you'd be better off. I work with an Avaya PBX so I'm not sure if this would apply to your environment or not.  :)
