Hello, Genesys gurus.

Our company is currently considering doing a pilot run of Genesys products for our call centre. The switch we are using is APEX, the smaller version of the infamous NEAX.

It has been a long time since I have looked at Genesys suite. The last time I did that, it was very simple, and there were no such things as CME or Configuration Server, or IR server. I think TServer's version was 3.xxxx or something like that.

1. Now, with all this array of products and services, the guy upstairs (no, not god) is thinking about installing Genesys at our centre. Should we wait until 6.0 comes out before we even think about looking into it, or should we go ahead with the 5.1.5 release and then upgrade it to 6.0?

2. Any opinions about APEX compatibility?

  • There is a document authored by Genesys, subject "5.1 Compatibility and Migration" for Version 6.0.
This is available on the Genesys Tech Support web site.
    Hope this helps.

  • Hi,
Can you explain the main differences, for a user, between 5.1 and 6.0 Genesys Suite INBOUND.
    Thanks.

  • I think it will be best that you get hold of the "Genesys 6.0 Compatibility and Migration" document, or else I will end up cutting and pasting. It is available on Genesys Tech Support site. You will need login id and password to access the site. The url is http://genesyslab.com/support/home/index/.

  • We are currently installing 6.0 on a project and there are still some bugs but it is worth the extra functionality. 6.0 is currently available so I would ask about it. If you plan on utilizing Internet Suite I would try and wait until the 6.0 version of it is also available because we are having huge issues integrating ISuite 5.xxx with Framework 6.0. The 6.0 version of Internet Suite is not available yet. Email me if you have any further quesitons.
