Can someone help me...

I need to understand how many dbclient_oracle processes are required per ./multiserver "database" process. We have four oracel databases and although dbprocesses_per_client is set to 1 there seem to be mulitple dbclient_oracle for each database...

The above processes are all running on Solaris servers.

Thanks

Paul

  • Hiya,
DBServer will launch as many dbclient_oracle processes as is required. It can spawn, maintain and terminate processess as required.

If however you see processess that having been running a long time and you suspect may be 'hung' you , or get your DBA group, should investigate the status of your database.

Some possible reasons for an excess of clients would be someone running a recursive change in CME in a pre 6.5 Configuration server, large outbound campaigns being loaded or unloaded or unindexed campaigns bing run, the database partition is running out of space etc. Another possibility is that there is an automated job that has hung and is keeping the connection open.
