Hello,

I am using multiple play application blocks in a IRD routing strategy however can only use DTMF on the first one - is this normal?

For example, if I create the block and play a VXML application where a simple prompt is played then follow it with another block where a menu option prompt is presented, I cannot select a key (the prompt plays its course and carries on after the timeout).

The multiple blocks have been created so we can report on the points where callers abandon ie during the greeting (block1), menu options (block2) and so on.

The right prompts from each vxml always play, its just I cannot type a key unless the menu option vxml is the first one in the routing strategy.

System:
SIP 8.0 (media gateway Avaya)
GVP 8.1

Hi,

No, it isn't normal as calling multiple VXML applications for single call is quite a common approach. Unfortunately, it's hard to tell what's wrong without having logs... Have you checked if DTMF tones are passed to GVP?

Dont know if it is related but there is a known problem in SIP Server 8.0 (fixed in 8.1) that multiple treatments to MCP don't pass attached data except for the first treatment.

We hit it by having a PlayAndCollect and then trying to pass the CED to a VXML application using PlayApplication.

This is due to MCP 8.1 and SIP Server keeping the SIP session open and passing treatment information using INFO messages. The data gets passed on the initial setup INVITE but not on the INFO.

You're right but this issue occurs only for MSML-based integrations. If MSML is not enabled then it works fine.

  Yes true but we are using MSML  :(

PFCCWA - we would need to see some logs to be able to determine exactly what the problem is.
