Jim:
We have several Periphonics boxes with either 96 or 48 ports, Recently we had a increase in traffic and the IVRs for once had a workout. However once we started to get 2025 simultaneous calls per 48 port node the CPU load on the IVRs skyrocketed and the calls started to fail. When we contacted Nortel/Peri they said it was the Genesys Drivers causing the problem. The Drivers do take around 35% of CPU usage each but it doesn't seem like it should slow down the IVRs so much. We are planning on upgrading the processors on the IVR from Sparc5 to Ultra 20s hoping to get around the problem. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this problem?

zewt:
Hi

Are you using a gateway to connect the IVR to the switch?

Jim:
No. The T1's are directly connected to the IVR from the switch.

Ramesh Pitchumani:
How did you configure the IVR ports in Genesys. As ACD agents or as trunks? What switch is being used?

Thanks,
Ramesh.

Jim:
They are agents and it's a Lucent G3.
