Hi All,

I am trying to set up my Genesys lab, i have installed MSSQL 2008 R2 version,installed DB server 8.1 and Config server 8.1.
Loaded all the SQL scripts. Started DB server and then config server. But seeing error "microsoft odbc sql server driver dialog failed ' error code 30" in Configserver

Any help to resolve this issue is greatly appreciated.

Can you copy in the MSSQL ODBC connection string you are using to connect to the cfg db?

Hi Adamgill,

Where will you find this option? is it in the cfg_DB server config file? Or you want us to add this option in the cfg_DB file?
We are not passing any string from SQL.

Thanks.

Ermmm...why ODBC? This info is declared at the config server cfg file. Also can you post the dbserver and cfgserver log snippet? Can you connect to the DB using Windows ODBC at Control Panel?

Sort of para-phrasing cav;

Before your cfg can connect to the data source (directly) is has to be locally configured to do so.  As cav says - find out if you can connect to the database using your cfg Server Windows ODBC options and that might tell you where the problem is.  Other than that - cfg and dbserver logs showing the error are always good! :)
