DataSourcer Data Collection Unit Recommendations

Hello,
We use CCA 8.1 (Datasourcer/Datamart/StatServer).
Genesys have advised there are data collection unit recommendations ie reporting templates should be within 400-700k statistics with individual ones at 200k.
However when I have searched documentation, there is no such statement, and only in articles can I see something referencing this - and even then it is 500-600k per data collection unit.

I wanted to check what other users have referenced when planning for deployment.
There looks to be a hardware influence, in that a powerful server will handle large collection unit, no matter how many stats are being collected.
