Hello Members,

I have following Questions Regarding Genesys

1) Can we upgrade a URS Router with out stopping it ? Lets say we have only one Router with 24/7 environment  and calls were currently being handled on it is there any way to upgrade it ? do we need to bypass the incoming traffic ?

2)Major Differences between .ZCF,.Rbn,.XML format of exporting a Strategy ?

3) How can we update the new Genesys License File on the live environment with out stopping any application ?

1. Unless you have HA, no, you can't. You would need to deploy a new URS in parallel and then do all configuration to move all interactions there. But, if you are 24x7 without HA means you are ready to sacrifice a few minutes of out of service.

2. Preference mainly. Usage you will do with them. XML is more user friendly for analyzing.

3. Yes, replace license file. At lmtools later just ask for a license re-read.

1. If you have pri/bkp urs pair, change bkp to primary mode, upgrade pri, change pri to primary mode, upgrade bkp.

2. XML,kvl don’t export other objs other than strategy/subroutine. Importing them cannot create original objects

3. Yes

If you export/import a strategy/subroutine as zcf it not only exports/imports the strategy/subroutine itself but also all objects it depends on (subroutines that are called from the strategy/subroutine. macros, list obejcts). if you export/import as rbn it just exports/imports that strategy/subroutine. A zcf file is just a zip-file containing the individual rbn files.
