How to Calculate Genesys Licenses for Inbound Call centre
« on: April 11, 2020, 07:30:07 PM »
Q1: What is the Genesys License categorization ? Is it only SDN licenses ?

Q2: If we increase SDN licenses or T server license, do we need to restart any of the services.

1. Check Genesys licensing guide, at docs.genesyslab.com, System Level
2. Yes, you need to.
3. For FlexLM just to a reload license at LM Tools

Now days the license definitions are not as clear cut as they were in the past. Genesys talks about Sellable items (SI) which usually relates to a feature and within that, there are 3 models to sell an SI:
  • Enabled: which is configured seat within Genesys config
  • Concurrent: The usage of a seat which is counted when the agent logs in
  • Subscription: Same as concurrent but counted over a month and billed mothly

My point is that the license file that tracks the SDN may not reflect your commercial agreement. MIO it rarely does. Most new license files are rather generous and the expectation is that the customer will track the usage.
