Web Service Object IRD question
« on: August 05, 2020, 11:42:13 PM »
hello

i have a quick question about using the web service object in IRD.
If we are using a SOAP request, do we need to complete the SOAP section under the security tab?
I presume this is the case but cant be sure if this is just to add an extra layer of security in the request.
the other option was to use a http request with a http authentication method.
What i am also not clear is can we combine the two? for example use a SOAP request and http authentication method?

thanks,

Basically HTTP Authentication, TLS, and SOAP security are independent and not related things. They can or can. Ot be used in any combination - it depends from specific web server configuration.

Please can i ask the following regarding deployment of web service.
Based on documentation i think i need to do the following:

  • Install Genesys Security Pack (URS is on unix OS)
  • Set LD_Library_Path to Security Pack install path
  • Configure 'web' section in URS options including certificates path for TLS.
  • In Routing Strategy set options in web service object

thanks.

Basically yes.
Just instead of configuring section web with TLS options you may choose to set them directly in properties of web service object in Security tab in TLS group.
