Hi !
Genesys DBServer for AIX cannot connect to MsSQL database due to the fact that there is no dbclient_msql for AIX.
(Don't think there are any UNIX dbservers with msql client).
Genesys says it's because there are no MsSql client libraries for MsSql.
So what I will have to do is to put up a W2K server to run dbserver.
Has anyone tried the follwing setup:

StatServer on AIX ( STATUS and QINFO tables active).
CallConcentrator on AIX (SCDR and GCDR tables active)
DBServer on Windows 2000.
Database on MsSqlhotell.

All servers above are located in a IBM VMWare environment.

We write about 500L000 transations per day into those tables.

Today I run all these componentes on AIX with a Sybase db.Regards Mikael Jansson

  • We are not running AIX but UNIX, but concept is the same:
if you want to use MSSQL server, you will need to use Windows based DB server.

At one of our clients, we have MSSQL DB which handles hundreds of thousand transactions per day on a SQL server running dual CPU. We also have DB server running on it as well.

It seems to be doing fine, except maintenancewise it is a nightmare, because it means we can no longer control everything using a telnet window, which is a must in a distributedenvironment call center.
