Add CLI to Circumvent Call Barring?

Does anyone know how to apply a specific CLI for Agents manually dialling out, via a Routing Strategy Function? I want to apply a "callack number" as the CLI for various Agents and, as we are all probably aware, lots of telco providers are now offering a service to their "at home" customers that bars incoming calls which have no CLI.

This is legitimate in that we are contacting existing customers regarding their account with us, not cold calling for new business. The concept is that, even if we don't get an answer, we can leave a message or they can call us back on the number we leave as the last Inbound call (in the UK 1471/1571 Services from BT) Anyone in the UK who may have seen Jeremy Clarkson on the BT advertisement wobbling on about inscruitable companies promoting telesales at unsuitable times, with "Special Offer for this " and "Let's talk about lagging" etc. can rest assured that this is *not* the reason I am asking this question!

TIA

Tony

HI Tony,

This all depends on the underlying PABX and the API between the tserver and the PABX.
I dont think that many of the switches allow TServer to change the outgoing CLI.
The switch should give you extn based CLI.

What type is it?

  • Isn't CLI (ANI) attached by your network provider?

OK I have investigated further and found that the CLI (ANI) is associated on the outgoing trunk by the PBX/ACD. Nothing Genesys CTI can affect, so I'm lead to believe.

    Thanks!

While it's true that it's controlled by the definitions of the trunks on the PBX, remember that Genesys does have the ability to add an access code to the front of any outdialed call, which means you could configure the PBX such that certain trunks have certain CLI, and direct Genesys to dial the access code for those particular trunks (as configured in the PBX) prior to making the outbound calls.

I had actually considered that option but the (HiPath) PBX is set up so that no CLI leaves the building, through it, irrespective of the outbound digits appended to the call/CLI/ANI.

The business are considering getting an "outside line" dedciated to making these calls but I figured there must be another way around this.

    Thanks for the reply though!

    Any other ideas?
