CCPulse Helpful Hints

Maybe most of you know this, but I thought I'd share what I recently discovered.

Prior to adding new VQs to your environment, open the existing CCPulse workspaces that need to have the new VQ added as an object.  After adding the VQ to CME, the existing open workspace will have the Object added to its Object pane automatically, then save the workspace.

This is a great time saver because in the past I've always been starting from scratch when trying to get new objects into workspaces / views.

Our views are getting more and more complex with thresholds and actions and starting from scratch everytime is a pain.

Also, we took this one step further and created "Future_X" DNGroups of Queues and added them to existing view tabs and then hid the rows.  When adding new VQs, the "Future" DNG can be renamed, add the shortcuts to the new VQs and Unhide the rows.

Enjoy,,

Yep, that is a great time saver, however, you have to be careful in some circumstances.

If, for example, you have a workspace with Groups but do not want to see the child contents of those groups, adding a new group in the way you mention will automatically show the child contents of the parent group (even if you did not select child properties of the group at the initial build stage previously).

In the above case with large Groups (think large VAGs), this can add a considerable amount of objects to be polled.

At least, it happens this way in 7.2.000.09, I should check to see if this has been sorted in any updates really!

With CCPulse 7.5.000.12 :
CCPulse+ now correctly implements the IgnoreNewObjectNotifications configuration option. When set to true, agent groups added to the workspace are not visible in the Call Center Objects pane after the workspace is loaded. Previously, agent groups were visible in the Call Center Objects pane after the workspace was reopened. (ER# 142233357)

There are more interesting things in the 7.5 hotfixes as well, like persistant connection to cfg server!

Mark,

it was not persistent before?!!!  :o

CCPulse is pretty good at showing all the stats you need. Of course, it is a true pain when it comes to trying to add new DNs or VQs when you have several thousands of them and you want to pick just a few. Has anyone figured a way to make creating new workspaces or modifying existing ones easier? Is there a way to specify DNs you want to add without needing to scroll down the listbox the size of iceland on the worldmap?

Only way I can think of is to abandon CCPulse all together, build something custom and get the stats from GIS.

Not exactly quicker to build, but done right it could be quicker to update and much better to manage.

Has anyone noticed how you can't remove a decimal on your stats, to provide a simple whole number...

Or that the new day:hour:minute:second numerology doesn't seem to want to revert back to xxxx seconds...

Or that an export of pure numbers provides you with 5 decimal places, when not required....

...or is it just me?  ::)

Well i was giving a training on Statistics and lab was on CCPulse 7.0, usually i worked on 7.2 and better on 7.5
It was a nightmare, problem after problem, this doesn't work (like move statistics up and down) format doesnt work, etc etc, final solution was upgrade all to 7.5 and all happy. 7.5 has a lot of corrections compared to the previous versions and works pretty fine.

Sure it works better with 7.5 release but I think there is a lots of improvements to bring. Or to completely reconsider the CCPulse tool and Historical architecture ?

I have an ER open right now where this feature does not work for Group Queue Objects (tested with group of acd queues.)  If a VQ group is added to CME while you have CCPulse open, it won't pop into your objects pane... but if you happen to save your workspace, you'll see the new object pop into your workspace the next time you open it.

This is a huge problem for a massive organization with multiple departments.  Objects are popping into users workspaces, and eventually they are growing so large that CCPulse+ won't even launch without crashing.

Also add that using dynamic view, some agents who are in state such as WaitForNextCall for a long time seem to disappear from the view until you deactivate and reactivate the view.

Tony - these problems are frustrating for sure.  I have the decimals showing up for a formula below that's adding two fields that are integers.  result.Float=
ccpulse.group("Current Half Hour").statistic("Total Calls Answered")+
ccpulse.group("Current Half Hour").statistic("Total Calls Abandoned")
