We recently had WFM training and the managers attending proceeded to build their entire call center and CSR's on our development server, to get as close to test real life schedules builds.  Is there a way to copy user configs from server to server?

Thanks for you help,

Hi, WFM Database Utility could be used to backup/restore of WFM database. Unfortunately, it is not possible to export users related configuration only (you can skip Forecasts, Schedules, Performance).

If you do the backup and then subsequent restore (into production environment) all the configuration will be overridden (incl. Activities, Rotations, Shifts, Breaks, etc.).

Since the file is standard MDF file you can try to delete all the tables which are not related to what you want to 'move'. I've never tried this myself and I am not sure whether it will work.

Do not forget to backup your WFM DB first ;)

Thanks,

I will forward this information on, and we might just try this approach.  I will respond with the outcome if we try this.

Its also worth noting that this is only an option if the two environments share a config. server / database as some of the WFM database objects are linked to the DBID's of the config server / database and importing data from one database to another will return loads of errors.

Is there anything in the production WFM environment that they want to keep, if not and the CME database is the same it shouldn't be a problem.

Personally I would get them to redo the exercise anyway as although duplication of time can be seen as a waste by the users, once WFM is running some of the tasks required for setup will rarely be done and therefore any experience they can get now will benefit over time. (How often will they need to create teams or activities etc.?)
