What is the licensing policy for Genesys WFM

Would any one tell me on licensing policy for WFM 7.2  or 7.5.

1) Do we need to buy license for each agent for Genesys WFM.
2) If we have license for Inbound solution, do we need to buy separately for WFM,
3) If we are not using Inbound, do we need to buy for WFM?
4) Is there any policy that we can get licnese based on WFM component basis.

Thanks,
Nithishh

As any other product from Genesys licenses used for A can't be used for B product.
WFM is a complete and apart solution (component) and therefore needs its own licenses.

For the question:

Only you can answer that. What do you want to do with WFM?

Hi Nithishh,
1) Do we need to buy license for each agent for Genesys WFM.
No, Genesys WFM is licensed per seat.
2) If we have license for Inbound solution, do we need to buy separately for WFM,
Yes. WFM is separate product.
3) If we are not using Inbound, do we need to buy for WFM?
Yes, it's different product. You can contact your Genesys Sales Representative and try to negotiate with him/her... ;)
4) Is there any policy that we can get licnese based on WFM component basis.
Sorry, I don't understand this question.

We are not using Inbound voice, the calls are routed directly from Switch. We dont have Genesys Inbound voice or routing solution at all.

We use the Genesys Framework for WFM purpose only.

Do we need to buy WFM Licenses per seat/agent basis. The vendor is charging us
on per Agent basis. How far is this correct. Cant we get licenses based on Product so that we can use it for any number of seats.

I maybe wrong but Genesys WFM data feeds are coming from statserver, meaning you need to have Genesys inbound. Genesys license is seat/agent base only.

WfM Licensing is not dependant on any other Genesys Solution.  The Technical WfM Soluton does require some form of interaction data however this does not necessarily need to come from a Genesys Interaction source (NRS/ERS, OCS, MCR, etc.).  Consider that you can import historical data, from which to form a Forecast/Schedule and similarly an Adherence Report, without the need to collate/collect the information via the Solution components...

From the information I have to hand; WfM Licensing is seat based and the number of seats is to be determined between parties.  That is; it could be how many Agents you have currently defined in your WfM Config Utility - it may just as well be the number of Agents you expect to have defined in your Solution over a period of time.  The permutations for this are between you, your provider or reseller and their Genesys Account Manager...

- I hope this helps?

As I've written in my previous post - WFM licensing is seat based. It means that you need one license for every computer (aka working place = seat) used by the agents. Most of the call centre uses desk-sharing so here is an example - it's sufficient to have one license for 3 agents sharing the same desk (seat).

Licenses for Genesys Framework and TServer come as a part of WFM Solution so you can use it (TServer) as the source of historical data and for adherence purposes.

I agree with all of your points, Rene.

A "seat", for the purposes of a license file, is defined as a shared resource (1 "desk" = 1 "seat", therefore 3 "staff" sharing 1 "desk" = 1 "seat").  However, a supplier/reseller may stipulate this to be otherwise when it comes to paying the bill when they arrange the cost of the licensing for WfM with Genesys, on your company's behalf.

Perhaps it is easier to state that there are 2 distinct models for licensing - technical and financial; technical is an SDN checked out via flexLM, through your licensse file and the financial side is whatever you work out with your supplier/reseller/Genesys...?
