Hi
I am a VXML developer but now working on Genesys side. Please execuse me for my silly questions.

Our business wants to send emergency messages incase of Bad weather or Emergency build evacuation and some times  messages only  to a particular department  so that callers will be notified of the same when they call into 1-800-numbers that they have.

I am positive this can be done at the switch level. I am wondering whether this can be done thru URS/IRD as well in little time. If business wants to make it effective it should done right away.

Business inputs are: (1) Which Department or for which 1-800 number should be given this message  or for the entire company numbers

(2) Prompt/text to be played  during that time (3) How long that prompt needs to be repeated for example 30mins or 1hour etc until CSRs are back to take calls.

Would some one kindly provide me the best approach here. I appreciate so much.

  • Yes - If you build one Strategy which is applied to a single Route Point, that is where you could apply an emergency message, based on the criteria with the call.

Even if you have mutliple strategies, as long as they call a sub-routine which passes the call to the specific Route Point and your Routing Strategy on that Route Point contains a option to look up the Target (Department) or the Originating (DNIS) and then "play an emergency message and drop the call or pass through here..." -type strategy, then it is feasible.
