Genesys TServer to Avaya AES integration

Need your help
As far as I know, Genesys TServer uses DLG protocol to talk to Avaya AES.
Does anybody know, if it is possible to use TSAPI protocol for this?
And if not, maybe you know if Genesys plan to develop this possibility?

  • Hi,

Genesys TServer doesn't support TSAPI protocol and I've never heard about any plans to support it. I would say it won't be good investment in the time when everything is moving to IP and SIP ;)

  • Until now, I have always heard that Genesys T-Server only works with DLG; however, perhaps Genesyslabs managed to get the licensing agreement with Avaya and start connecting using TSAPI. It would be probably the best for all of us. Of course, it also means no need to pay DLG fee as well for us as well :)

  • TSAPI is not free. In as far as my knowledge goes, there are two versions of TSAPI, basic and advanced. If you want to do some meaningful telephony server work, you need the advanced TSAPI licensce which costs as well.

  • I'm told Genesys have written a TSAPI compatible TServer... there are release notes for it on the Genesys Tech Support website.

It looks pretty buggy at the moment and isn't going to be GA for a while yet...

  • Has anyone tried deploying this TSAPI TServer? I'm in the middle of trying to get this working in a dev environment and not having much luck. Hoping to hear a success story!! ;-)

  • Hi,

How many licenses does AES support. We have 400 agents in one site.

  • Think it's less about licenses and more about traffic - that's limited by how much work your adjunct is doing...

  • Hi

But would be applicable to know also if the AES can support such licenses such as the DLG. Since currently we still use the MAPD card which is already out of support for avaya or limited support. Any thoughs on the requirements on work to migrate to the AES

  • We're in the same situation - still using MAPD, and wanting to move to AES. DLG licenses for AES are extremely expensive as Avaya are trying to kill it off...

TSAPI's the way forward, and if you're looking at Genesys, then there is a TSAPI TServer available. You should only need TSAPI basic licenses...

  • Hi

ic, am not sure when were gonna move to AES just not yet but if you being the first one to upgrade can you discuss your migration. Any challenges that may occur along the way. I appreciate your inputs. By the way do you encounter any problem with your MAPD like for example connectivity issues.

  • The only problems we've had is in the limit in capacity available for messaging on the MAPDs...

  • Hi,

Do you have errors upon loggin in to the MAPD such as application port not availble? IT seems that it is corrupted. Although could not relate as to why we have disconnected issues with the tserver and MAPD as often.
