it is never suggested to run a genesys servers on vmware machine in production environment. it would add to unnecessary complication in your environment, not to mention about the load and the network latency...

however if you want you can run genesys gui applications on a vmware machine running windows..

is there any particular reason you are trying to do that?

as it is you will find many issues to worry about in the production..why do you want to add one more to your list?

Siddharth.

Hi

Well, all works fine. All but not a SIP server in HA mode based on Windows NLB.

Running any application that is not real time on VM ware is ok.

Things like TServers, Stat Servers and SIP Servers should not be on virtual machines, pretty much everything else is ok provided the host has the capacity to run it.

I've seen problems with the various Java based applications running under VMWare, especially GAD, GAS and the InfoMart ETL Runtime.

I have seen “WatchDog detected” issues with application on VM which work with DB. The issue has gone after moving to a physical server.

GVP - Yes

New here, so adding a little more info on recent subjects.

Yes, we're running all non-RTP stream components of GVP on VM.  We're discussing going VM with a large CTI deployment; no issues with support from Genesys.  Potential issues with GAD, so we'll test that in our labs to see what we come up with.
