Hello,

Has someone wrote a manual explaining how to install ICC? I am reading the documents which came with the ICC cd and I am very confused. Installation guide seems to be very thorough, guiding you with the install, yet, at the same time it seems to be missing some of the most vital points.

For example, it is missing a lot of steps and does not list a step by step installation instructions for installing webcallback. I am currently using a combination of Installation and Configuration manual for 6.1 with the rest of ICC elated docs.

When I was trying to follow the steps in the installation manual, I almost immediately got stuck with JRun. I could not find it on the CDs and had to download it somewhere else. Why is it not included with the CD?

Installing Hipbone Server was really bad. Frameset.html file modifications described in the manual use an outdated source code, so I needed to improvise and look through all of the source before I figured out where the necessary modifications are needed to be made.

When I tried to install Web API I almost immediately got a configuration server error: after it prompts for configuration server information, it attempts to login to CME, and then returns an error saying that WebAPI application could not be found. I am a little bit confused, so please help me out: aren't we installing the WebAPI? If so, why is it returning an error saying that it cannot find WebAPI? Do I need to make it myself?

Maybe, I am the only one who is really struggling with the install. Hopefully, not. Can someone please create some decent step by step installation instructions based on the current G6.1 environment?

When do we use ICC Wizard and when should we be doing the manual install?

Please help!

Alvaro

  • Hi Ken,

Do worry you are not the only one. I had to spend two weeks trying to figure out how to install it. I really don't have time to create a step by step to you, but I will give you some tips. ICC 6.1 needs JRun 3.1 to work. So first put JRun 3.1 to work before trying to install ICC 6.1. Genesys also sent a product advisory issued on 15 June 2001 that gives a workaround to this problem.

After installing JRun 3.1 and looking at the workaround you should be able to install it.

If you can't find this product advisory through Genesys, please let me know and I can send it to you.

    Regards,
    Alvaro

  • There is a Migration and upgrade guide for ICC in Genesys Tech support website.
You can download the guide from it. It is quite detail in how to setup ICC.

  • I found a lot of migration guides, but I am about to give up in despair, because it is really difficult to install it. I am havcing problems with the installation manual, email server (it does not delete inbound emails), and URS (it drops calls to default if I try to apply a treatment with no error other than stating that treatment time is about to expire (9999 seconds is not enough???)
