Dear Genesys Community and Other Animals!

The times are changing, our bodies are getting older and our responsibilities getting bigger. No longer can we spend the whole day analyzing Genesys T-Server logs and seeing if we can crash the local telephone exchange by trying to dial with all ports at once.  What used to be a happy Genesys CTI engineer fiddling with one of the coolest products on the planet is now a grumpy mid-level manager complaining about the costs incurred by the inventive hire who took his place.

The community has spoken and so we are announcing that we heard you loud and clear. If this forum is to continue to serve the needs of its community, we need to change. We need to adapt. We need to be better.

And so, it is with great pleasure that we announce the beginning of a new era for this forum. Over the next several weeks we will be hard at work transforming this forum, adding a new and very important layer to it. This exciting transformation will deal with the current forum's shortcoming in addressing the need of so many of us who became those grumpy mid-level managers in charge of overlooking the whole call center infrastructure, planning its growth and deciding on the best way to address the ever-changing landscape of today's call center.

As all of you have clearly shown during the last few days, it is time we start exploring products that work with Genesys, understand them and find the most optimum implementation that maximizes on the value of what we already have as well as what we would want to see three years down the road. Therefore, this is a call for all of you out there:

HELP US! Help us take the experience that each one of you have compiled over the years and put it to a good use with the rest of us.

If you work at a call center, a Genesys VAR, or at a company that manufactures the products that work with Genesys, we want to hear from you! Of course, we want to hear from you if you don't fit into any of those categories as well!
[li]Do you know how to setup Genesys SIP with Cisco?[/li]
Email us an article on this!
[li]Have you configured Nice Logger to work with the latest version of T-Server? [/li]
Why not write about the benefit of Genesys versus direct Avaya connection?
[li]Are you an OmniPCX expert?[/li]
Then send us a video of how to configure Omni's RSI to work with Genesys!

Write an article yourself, talk to your boss about emailing us your latest Genesys creation, or simply drop us a line and we will be more than happy to assign you something to do!

Articles, in-depth studies, comparisons and demos - send it to us and we will make sure that it goes up on site for everyone to see, analyze, discuss and comprehend. Of course, all the credit goes to you and your company (or a local zoo for those of you who still have tails!  ;D )

Contact us here on this forum, or at paper@sggu.com

Let's make it work!

Oh, by the way, if you are NOT working for the major manufacturer, then you are eligible for $500 USD prize.

The rules are simple:

You write an article about Genesys or a product that is related to Genesys or anything else mentioned in the post above, and then submit it to us. From all the submitted articles, we will choose the ones that we think should go on this site. Then, the article that gets the most votes in a month will get the cash prize paid via PayPal. That simple. Of course, we reserve the right to have the vote count annulled, cancel the prize, change the rules and everything else that may affect the payout. All our decisions are final and if people start causing problems over this, we will just cancel the whole thing. Idea is to start rewarding people who put so much into this community, and I think few of us will pass an opportunity to get paid to write about what we know and love. So, anyone is interested?

Deadline: March 20th, 2009 for the first edition! All the articles will be up from April 1st.

Sincerely,

Genesys CTI Forum Administration Team

Done.

Hey guys,
I have a little concern here, already mentioned to Vic but would like to insist on it. The site itself. As you know the site right now is designed as a forum, so posts that are not read are easily forgotten in the looooooooonnnng list we have. Even when some of them have very good info.

So, I think that all this new idea of articles, concepts, videos (already did my homework :D), etc, the site has also to evolve. Maybe keep the forum part for discussions but we need a repository where documents of no matter what nature are easy to find and not lost on time.

There are several tools on market (opensource) already available, maybe someone has seen or use one that can help on this new journey.

Regards

Cav,

you are a very sneaky Brazilian! :) (Yes, I know you are from Ecuador  ::) )

Actually, this forum will have a "wrapper" that will allow for so much more...
It is still work in progress, but you can have a peek here:

http://www.sggu.com/~victor/meridian/

Yes, it is not completely done and probably all the car photos will have to go (unfortunately), but I think it will a perfect place to host just exactly this! What do you think?

All the titles are fictional here, including product reviews and so on, so if you feel like there is an article you would like to add, please tell us and we will put it up there.

It is promising to be a really great site!

Ok, I am off to bed, however, please tell me what articles you would like to add on to it, so I will assign it to somebody...Obviously, whatever article titles are written there right now are just dummies...

Vic

Where did Meridian come from?  That name gives me a reaction similar to that of an electroshock therapy treatment.   Or perhaps a frontal lobotomy.

The company that used the name for years almost caused me to advocate the USA to declare war on our friends to the North.  But after many beers (Mooseheads, eh?) and discussion with my northern cousins under the same pain, came to the understanding that it was the corp and not the culture.

You could have called it ICM, PG, Conversant.....you know, all of those ugly names from our past.  Why Meridian? ;D

Vic> working hard on not breaking the thread here. Actually, I did not mean to name it Meridian. It is just the name of the template, but in retrospect, in a way, it is funny :)

I like this community and I want to help. I will write a simple article about how we use CCP thresholds. I know it is very simple, but this is all I can do for now. Is it ok? And do I email it to paper@sggu.com or do I post it here?

Vic> yes, you can just email it there :)
