ConnID issue - GVP 7.5

Hi All,

I have set up a 7.5 environment to test studio IVR applications only and have these components installed - Core components, IPCS, TTS, ASR and the IVR server client on a single server. I call the application by dialing <DNIS>@<server IP address> from a soft phone. When I call application, the connection ID is not populated or NULL(I checked the popgateway and the CFA debug logs and it's null there). Everything else as far as the application is concerned is working fine (ANI present, SessionID present, prompts played etc). I am a newbie to installation and configuration, haven't had installation/admin training. I read in the GVP 7.5 reference manual(pg 269) that the IVR client receives the connID from the IVR server and if IVR server doesn't it still passes one on to the CFA. GVP 7.5 vxml 2.1 ref manual(pg 59) says connID isn't available at setup time in network mode. But in my case is there any way of getting a connID? Work around may be... Any help or suggestion would be great.

Thanks.

Hi,

If I do understand your description correctly you're calling GVP directly using some SIP softphone. In that case you won't get ConnID as that parameter is generated by TServer not by GVP. To get ConnID you should call you switch (could be SIP Server or any PBX connected with GVP via SIP) and transfer call to GVP using switch or Genesys routing then. Of course, TServer and IVR TServer have to be configured properly to pass ConnID to GVP.

Hope it helps you
R.

You're right René. I'm calling the GVP directly from a softphone.

Thank you very much for the response.
