Hey Guys

We are looking for a SIP endpoint to run on the Genesys SIP TServer.

Preferably free or open source and needs to have third party call control.

Thanks.

Can you use this end point with no GAD licenses?

Well, good question. My answer yes and no at the same time. Because Genesys SIPEndPoint to simple to have the complete call controlling modules. It has been written for work  in the close cooperation with GAD. But it have the own source code in box based on Genesys .Net SDK and u can rewrite it to remove AIL-based modules(that used GAD and integration license) to use the pure T-Library request.

Also if u have the complete Genesys Universal SDK u already got the 2 or 3(i don't remember exactly) complete SIP Softphone project in the included sample source codes.

WBR Timur.

I noticed that but seen there was none in the Java SDK which is what we will be using. It looked Windows specific.

it really depends on whast you want to do. I have wrote the whole SIP phone using Microsoft RTC and found it to be more sufficient.

There is obviously an Asterisk's based SIP phone (quite a few of them out there) that you can build upon as well...

If I am not mistaken, Genesys sample is built on top of Microsoft RTC as well... We looked at pro's and con's of using RTC, and at the end of the day decided that multi-platform support is NOT what we really care about, since we cannot imagine a situtation where a corporate client would not use Windows...

well, using a unix-like desktop may be a more chipper for a first point of view. but support of this solution - same time may be looks like a sysadmin hell. anyway, for our test we found only one complete free and good soft phone for linux what work fine and good with Genesys Sip Server- Twinkle.
