Genesys completely absorbed by ALU by April?

Hi,

can someone please confirm whether or not it is true that Genesys is going to be completely absorbed into ALU by April? I was at the networking event today and several people have mentioned it. I would assume all of the large vendors would be notified by now if this is true...  So, is this just an unfounded rumor or something that I simply managed to miss???

Not absorved...merged. They are completing the merge of both, shaky stuff for presales and sales guys, for techs not too much.

It's not likely that they'd make an announcement to the vendors until sometime after the next few days.  Genesys' worldwide sales kickoff starts on Monday in Las Vegas, so they need to communicate whatever may be going on internally first, THEN they can clearly outline the plans to partners.  It wouldn't be appropriate to do it in the opposite order.

That's not to confirm or deny what may or may not be happening -- mostly because I have no idea since I don't work there anymore.

To be frank, it is kind of silly and irresponsible, because obviously all of competition is already aware of it. To think that somehow announcing it in a nice place after most of the users have been already informed of it by the competitor or a third party is delusional at best.

I am in Japan, Cav is in Peru and even in the remote places like these, both of us hear it during the networking events...  Instead of squashing weird rumors and stating exactly what it is, Genesys once again drags its feet and ends up hurting customer confidence. I bet you that it is going to take a lot of people by surprise - not the announcement but that it will be done by April of this year. I bet you that this will raise more questions and only give more reasons to clients to switch.

I do not know about you, but considering lack of strong presence of ALU in Japan, I am certain a lot of people here will go - OH F*CK!

Genesys have historically been very proud of being Number 1 in Call Centre technologies.  I wonder how that honour will be transferrerd to ALU...?

Seriously though, this will more than likely have more connotations as the merger moves forwards;

Will ALU look to replace anything currently on offer by Genesys, where synergies exist - and how would they approach that?
Genesys have traditionally been happy working their technologies in the cloud and/or on site, using traditional telephony or IP - I wonder how that will pan out...?  Do we all have to go to "ALU" SIP, now...?
Genesys 8 = ALU 1 ?

I'm sure that there are a hundred other things to be discussed - but "shhh", 'cos we don't about it yet... lol

Hum no guys, Genesys will remain as it is as software, the changes are more in the management areas, not in products/development stuff. ALUs intentions is I believe to make this easier for them to manage and control, now it is not Genesys decision but ALUs, so if anyone has to be blame then point it to ALU. Just hope that they don't influence too much on support as they were trying to do, having ALUs support-like in Genesys will be a real pain in the ass...

Have You feeling that Genesys support much better than ALU? We have some SR in Genesys opened 0,5 year ago and they promise to solve bug maybe at May. We have asked a lot of times when they will do that, no reaction almost at all.
Some additional comment: Genesys support sends email with question in which way You would like communicate by phone or by email? And this is like first reaction in time by internal support rules. And later You will no get reaction for monthes.

Wasn't the first clues to this at last years GForces when the senior Genesys people suddenly had ALU job titles?

Our is a much more simple affair - we raise an SR, Genesys says "it's not the current version - upgrade it and then we will talk to you about your problem..."

  Though Genesys support is painful but decision of merger certainly not in good taste, at least for customers, if not for sales guys. Be prepared for Snail wave on Genesys movements from here on.

Hihihihi guys, you will see that Genesys support is heaven compared to ALU, Genesys will try to solve things by doing upgrades or whatever, however ALU can have you 2 years (yes 2 years) without a solution working fine and even each time removing features and lately will tell you that you need to buy a new completely different stuff and additional to see if it works...
So hold on very tight to your chairs and expect the unexpected...

Genesys will continue...only commercial and management part will be changed
