GAD won't start

A few days ago GAD was working but I didn't had license for media seats. Now I got a new license file the only difference between the two is that 2 new features were added. Still GAD doesn't want to start anymore. I don't know if it's related to the new license or not. And it doesn't genereta log files anymore either, so I can't tell what's wrong.
It is connected to IxnServer, UCS, StatServer and Message server.
If I copy the starting line from services and try to open it from command line I get the next error:
service_startup - Changing working folder to D:\GENESYS\GenesysDesktop\GAD_P\bin\
Trying to start Service Control Dispatcher...FAILED
Cannot start Service Control Manager, error code = 1063
Trying to stop the service...DONE
DONE
shutdown_app
What can it be?
Thank you,
Mhiai

Mhiai,

Typically, this error indicates that the program is being run as a console application rather than as a service.

Check whther you can able to start from startup.bat from same directory.

indeed, in the GAD folder I already had a startup.bat. If I run it GAD works although in Services it sais that the service is stopped and so is in SCI. can't start it from services or SCI. I will check out later what exactly the bat does and start in services doesn't.
I get the feeling that it'll never work :D
Now I can open GAD but I get "Out of service" and in the bottom it sais: "The media email is not logged"

Thank you!
I really appreciate your help!

If you run GAD from startup.bat in SCI it will service is show as Started not stopped. But it will windows service. So check whether in bin directory GDesktopDriver.exe file is there or not.

Regarding "Out of service" check whether Interaction server is running or not. if its running then make sure that in GAD connections tab u have an connection to Interaction server or not. If its not there add connection to Interaction server.

Hope it will help you.

I managed to get GAD started. JAVA_HOME variable had a space in. Java was installed in Program Files.
Now it starts but I still have "Out of service" thingy there. GAD is connected to Interaction Server which is working.

In the Interaction Server logs I get:
10:09:23.453 Std 23038 Can't login agent '1001' at place 'Place_SWISS': failed to check out license while processing request 'RequestAddMedia' from client 4:1068, reference id: 9
10:09:23.453 Trc 26019 Sending message 'EventError' ('126') to client 'Place_SWISS' - Agent application:4:1068 through proxy 'Genesys_Desktop_P' - Proxy:2:1068, message attributes:
attr_ref_id [int] = 9
attr_prxy_client_id [int] = 4
attr_error_code [int] = 68
attr_error_desc [str] = "Could not checkout license"
Still I don't get it which license is this about.

Hi,

Check in InteractionServer options tab --> license section --> ics_email_webform_channel should set to other than zero .

Check whether enough licenses are there not.

Hello,
Thank you for your answer. Indeed ics_email_webform_channel is 0 and I don't have a license for this. But isn't this a license for if the user sends an e-mail from a form on a web page (something like a "contact us" form)? I don't have something like this. I have the Email Server Java that connects to a pop account and retrieves mails from there.
I need ics_email_webform_channel license for this too?

What I have is licenses for ics_custom_media_channel and ics_multi_media_agent_seat

Thanks,
Mihai

I think if an agent logs into a place for hadling emails, the agent needs following licenses.

one from ics_email_webform_channel for e-mail.

one from ics_multi_media_agent_seat for the agent.

Mihai,

The license "ics_email_webform_channel" is required for Genesys Email together with the license "ics_multi_media_agent_seat". You can find list of Genesys technical licenses in "Genesys Licensing Guide".
