TServer connections...
« on: July 30, 2010, 09:08:32 PM »
Hi everyone! :)

Quick question - TServer for Avaya AES (any version):

Can a TServer be configured to communicate with more than one AES, at the same time?  I was under the impression that (any) TServer can contain more than one set of TCP-IP connection parameters (link-1, link-2, etc.) and it can therefore be re-pointed via configuration or invoked by HA/DR scenarios - but it cannot maintain more than one live connection to multiple Switches at any one time.

Any pointers would be appreciated! :)

Thanks!

TT

Hi Tony,

you can configure more than one link for a TServer, however, that depends on the switch it connects to. Each vendor supports obviously a different architecture, so you may have / need / aim to configure more than one link to deploy HA or just support a large environment.
I'm under the same impression that you would not be able to have a Tserver connected at the same time to multiple switches [I wouldn't even bother going down the route, why not having a TServer per each switch? :) ]

Thanks Fra - I wasn't suggesting that a TServer could or should connect to more than one Switch at the same time, since I have the same opinion as you - it's 1 x TServer per 1x Switch/SCP Genspec... :)

Thanks for the confirmation!
