Hi Guys,

I have a problem in my Genesys 7.6 env.  with T-Server for Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Version: 8.0.101.02 and Cisco CUCM 7.1.3

I am not able to let the StreamManager play the Music On Hold. It's always The Cisco CUCM that takes the fonctionnality. T-Server does not call the StreamManager !
I have configured T-Server and StreamManager like described in the doc at page 154 "Music and Announcements" and at page 253 "Stream Manager Configuration Options With T-Server".

My RSI DN has an annex with :[TServer]-->smloc=SMA

How can I do to let SM play the MOH?

Any ideas ?

You posted the TServer config - have you created the TServer section and added the smloc option to Stream Manager app?

Hi Bounty,

'TServer' section must be created on Options tab not on Annex tab.

OK. Could you please check in TServer and StreamManager log that SM successfully connects to T-Server after start-up?

No connections problems : I have too SM that connect to the T-Server.
When I use the strategie to play annoucement, that works ! Only the MOH is not working on SM...

Hi Bounty,

I just checked available documentation and T-Server for Cisco doesn't support MOH provided by Stream Manager. MOH is always provided by Cisco Music On Hold Server.

I can read in the documentation :
T-Server—Deployment Guide 155
Chapter 7: Supported Functionality Music and Announcements

T-Server is able to control the playing of announcements and music on Routing
Points and ACD Queues in Cisco Unified Communications Manager. Music
and announcements can come from two sources:
1. Cisco Unified Communications Manager Music On Hold Server: The
server that provides music to endpoints when an IP phone is placed on
hold. The selection of music to be played can be customized in Cisco
Unified Communications Manager for a particular Routing Point. Refer
also to your Cisco Unified Communications Manager administration
guide.
2. Stream Manager: A Genesys client application that is able to stream
media files. For more information about configuring, refer to the
Chapter 11, “Stream Manager Configuration,” on page 253. Stream
Manager plays files using a codec that is negotiated with the Cisco Unified
Communications Manager switch. The list of possible codecs that can be
used is configured in the T-Server option audio-codec. Please refer to
page 234 of this document to configure this option.
T-Server can use Cisco Unified Communications Manager Music On Hold
Server to play music on hold, for a call on a Routing Point DN, if the DN is
configured in Configuration Manager.
Perhaps, I don't undestand all what they say...
Why do they explain in the next procedure how to configure MOH with Cisco if it's the default behavior ?
T-Server uses Cisco Unified Communications Manager Music On Hold
Server instead of Stream Manager to play music treatment if the name of
the music file, as defined in the strategy, is equal to the value of this option,
in this case mohserver-music-treatment-01. For all other music files
Stream Manager will be used.
I can read "instead of Stream Manager", but it is not really clear ...

I understand it is supported ! Don't you ?

B.

Hi Bounty,

Mentioned chapter talks about music and announcements on Routing Points and ACD Queue only. You can use either Stream Manager or Cisco Music On Hold Server. It doesn't say that you can use Stream Manager to play music on hold.
