I am trying to evaluate Genesys Outbound with Genesys IPCC.

How does the Outbound dialer work with Genesys IPCC ? Is this a
IP based software dialer ? Does Genesys use H.323 to make outbound
calls ? How does it interface with a IP based PBX ?

In this solution, who does the Call Progress Analysis (detection
of Answering Machines and Fax machines) ? Is this software based ?
Dependent on the gateway ? dependent on the IP PBX ?

Thanks.

Vic

  • Hi,

IPCC and Outbound will probably be the default installation for many of our sites, so I would really appreciate if you could share the info with us.

    Thanks,

  • Interesting questions. Firstly, I do not believe that anyone has developed a software only detection for answer machines etc and hence I would expect that voice cards such as Dialogic are still required. If this is true then I would expect the cards to be connecting back to a traditional PBX on line side or possibly the VoIP Gateway/Router if using a trunk side card.

This certainly looks like the configurations for other IPCC suites (eg. CISCO) however we've not actually tried it yet but when it comes to IP Telephony we will still have a PBX on the network and hence thats what we'll probably use to connect the dialer.

Will let you know as we move forward.
